Design Bridge context


For the design bridge brief i have decided to reinterpret the brand parcel force.. The brief has set the restrictions of reinterpretation thus not rebranding, so it is and acceptance of what the USP of parcel force currently is and reinterpreting its image.. these are the restrictions set for this brief. I will be looking at illustrative and icon based design for the design of this brief as this is quite unlike the nature of the industry i am trying to reinterpret.

  • Although the nature of the business sector is completely different in the case above it is the approachable nature of the brand image that can be applied through out the parcel force brand.. Using and illustrative style will be important in combating the restrictions set with in brief.. that of making a relatively un approachable brand approachable. the choice of typeface is also important and i will look to develop a hand render image to add to the approachable nature of the brief. 


    Examples of hand rendered type.. something that i will look to develop to create the brand image of parcel force. This will enable a connection with the public that use parcel force and often dont know, imporving brand respect. The example of the black type above is often seen in coffee shops etc, something that run there business of encouraging trade it is this where i will get a lot of my inspiration for this brief.





    This is example of hand rendered type that would use the wrong tone of voice of encouraging people to interact with the parcel force brand the tone of voice will define the success or failure of my entry into the competition.

    Exampled of advertising that uses the correct tone of voice as it still enables to keep a corporate feel about it. The large ascenders of the audi typeface is something that i may look to emulate as this gives a slight feel of handwriting something that i will use as influence. 



    Although the final resolution is not of the highest standard te use of hand-written style incorporated into a logo could work with parcel force. The flowing nature of it also starts to look like tape.. something that could be applied to the parcel force identity. 







    Combining the Illustration and type could also be an option for the parcel force brief although this example gives a slightly to agressive image, the same could be applied through icons. As gives a sense of strong identity and the colours have a sense of vibrancy which is also different to the corporate nature of the sector. 







    This is an example of how a heavily illustrative brand image can be applied through out a corporate range, something that i will try interpret within my own work for parcel force, perhaps not to this extent.. as one of the USPs of parcel force is that it is dependable and reliable, something that an overtly illustrative style may make people over look.
