Publication 1 focuses on the Brief 1 and Brief 4 the airline brief and infoserve which was minor branding brief. Why these were put together was because of the corporate nature of the briefs.. these were the two most corporate briefs undertaken of the course of the FMP.
This is an example of the grid system that was used through out all the publications 6 collums allow for the layout to be interpreted in anyway while still being accurate in the layout.
Above are examples of the introduction page to each brief the shape in the middle was chosen as it represents the concept of restriction well. segregating a shape into four sections, suggests the idea of restriction with in four sides. I will be determining the restrictions on each brief in sets of fours which means each section of the publication will have four layout rules.
These are examples fo the Vardesa spreads.. i have used four images per page through out the process. The typeface used through out the this section of the publication is representative of that used with in the design practice section of the brief. The bold type highlights quotes from design studios that have informed my practice through out the course of the module.
The colour running along the side of the publication will be another way of accessing individual briefs when the book is closed as it is representative of the brand colour used with in the brief.
Each section of the publication will be backed up with more information that help inform my design practice through out the course of the brief it will still maintain the typeface used with in the brief.
Change of colour every section.. the diamond is coloured with the colours used within the brief.
For the infoserve spreads i decided to use sets of four in a standardised layout due to the standardised corporate nature of the brief. The brief was about making something particularly uninspiring stand out.. Therefore the contextual images within the brief are representative of this.
Type take from website that informed the design practice with in this brief.
The front and back covers are representative of the shape i have used to represent the ethos of restriction that of the four edged diamond. The pattern is repeated to create a visually interesting outcome.
